An independent guide to choosing, activating and using credit, prepaid and gift cards in the US and Canada.
CreditCardCompare is an independent website that helps people in the United States and Canada choose a credit card, activate a new card and check a gift card balance safely. We also cover the United Kingdom and Australia. We are not a bank, a card issuer or a financial adviser, and we never ask for your card number, PIN or login details.

How we work
Every fee, rate and rule on the site is checked against a primary source: the issuer's terms and fee schedule, its official help pages, or a government regulator such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in the US or the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada. Pages show the date they were last checked. When an issuer changes a card, we update the page and the date. Our full process is set out in our editorial policy.
How the site is paid for
The site is funded by advertising and may earn a commission when a reader applies for a card through some links. That never changes how we rate or rank cards, and we list cards we earn nothing from. Details are on our advertiser disclosure page.
