Advertiser Disclosure & How We Make Money

How the site is funded, how that is kept separate from our ratings, and the limits of the information we provide.

CreditCardCompare is free to use because it is paid for by advertising and, for some cards, by a commission if you apply through our link. That money never decides which cards we list or how we rate them.

How we make money

  • Display advertising: pages show ads served by Google AdSense. We do not choose the individual ads and do not endorse them.
  • Affiliate links: some "apply" or "check offer" links may pay us a commission if you are approved. These links are marked as sponsored in the page code, and we show the same information whether or not a card pays us.

What does not change

Our ratings, rankings and "best for" picks are set by the editorial team using the criteria in our editorial policy. We include cards that pay us nothing, and we do not accept payment to change a rating or remove a card.

Important information

  • We are not a bank, lender, card issuer or credit broker, and we do not make credit decisions.
  • The information on this site is general and is not personal financial advice. Card terms change; always confirm the current rates, fees and conditions on the issuer's website before applying.
  • We never ask for your card number, PIN, online banking password or one-time codes. Anyone who does, claiming to be us, is a scammer.
