Macy's American Express Card
This Citi-issued Macy's Amex makes sense mainly for Macy's loyalists: it earns up to 5% back in Star Money in-store (varying by loyalty tier) plus modest cash back on gas, dining and supermarkets, and it accepts fair-to-good credit (640-plus), so it's reachable for thinner files. The Amex version at least earns something outside Macy's, unlike the store-only card, but the high store APR means carrying a balance erases the rewards quickly.
