The best credit cards with lounge access in 2026 are the Capital One Venture X ($395) for the lowest fee, the Chase Sapphire Reserve ($795) for Priority Pass plus Chase Sapphire Lounges, and The Platinum Card from American Express ($895) for the widest network, including Centurion Lounges and Delta Sky Club visits. The Citi Strata Elite ($595) sits between them. Fees are as of September 2026, so confirm them on the issuer's site before you apply.

Which credit cards give you airport lounge access?

Four US cards include a Priority Pass membership for the primary cardholder: the Capital One Venture X, Chase Sapphire Reserve, The Platinum Card from American Express and Citi Strata Elite. Each adds lounges or passes of its own on top, such as Capital One Lounges, Chase Sapphire Lounges, Amex Centurion Lounges or American Airlines Admirals Club passes.

A second group of airline cards gives you a set number of lounge passes rather than a membership. The Citi / AAdvantage Globe Mastercard, the Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite and the United Explorer Card fall into this group.

Most $95 travel cards include no lounge access at all. That covers the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, Capital One Venture Rewards, Citi Strata Premier and Wells Fargo Autograph Journey. If you want travel points without lounges, our best travel credit cards guide compares those.

Lounge counts are the figures each issuer publishes, and they differ because networks change often. Fees and benefits are as of September 2026. None of the four premium cards charges a foreign transaction fee.

What is Priority Pass and how does it work with a credit card?

Priority Pass is an independent lounge program that sells memberships directly and through card issuers. Priority Pass says its network covers more than 1,900 airport lounges and experiences in over 600 cities and 143 countries.

When a card includes Priority Pass, you normally enroll through the issuer before your first visit. American Express lists enrollment as required for Platinum cardholders, and Capital One grants Venture X access after enrollment. You then show your digital membership at the lounge desk. Lounges also expect a same-day boarding pass; Capital One, for example, requires one for its own lounges.

Issuers quote different lounge counts for the same network. Chase and Capital One cite 1,300+ Priority Pass lounges, while Citi cites 1,500+ for the Strata Elite. Before you pick a card for one particular airport, look up that lounge in the Priority Pass app and confirm it is included with your card's membership.

Is there a credit card with unlimited lounge access?

The closest thing is a card with an ongoing Priority Pass membership. Chase, Capital One, Citi and American Express describe complimentary Priority Pass access for the primary cardholder without listing a yearly visit cap on their product pages. Entry is still subject to space, and a full lounge can turn you away.

The limits show up elsewhere:

  • The Platinum Card from American Express includes 10 Delta Sky Club visits, usable only when you fly on an eligible Delta flight.
  • The Citi Strata Elite adds four Admirals Club passes a year, not a full Admirals Club membership.
  • From February 1, 2026, the Venture X no longer includes free lounge guests or authorized-user lounge access unless the cardholder spends $75,000 or more a year. Capital One now sells lounge access for authorized users as an add-on with its own annual fee.
  • The Chase Sapphire Reserve lets you bring up to two complimentary guests into Chase Sapphire Lounges.

Is a lounge access credit card worth the annual fee?

It is worth it only if you fly often enough to use the lounges and would spend money on the card's credits anyway. Judge each card by its fee minus the credits you are certain to use, not by the headline value the issuer advertises.

  • Capital One Venture X: the $395 fee comes with a $300 annual credit for bookings through Capital One Travel and 10,000 bonus miles every year from your first anniversary. If you already book trips through the portal, your net cost is close to $95 before counting the miles.
  • Chase Sapphire Reserve: the $795 fee includes up to $300 in statement credits for travel purchases each account anniversary year. Chase also lists a $300 dining credit through Sapphire Exclusive Tables and a $500 credit for hotel stays booked through The Edit, but those only help if you would use those programs.
  • The Platinum Card from American Express: the $895 fee is offset by credits such as up to $600 a year for hotels, up to $200 in Uber Cash, up to $200 in airline fee credits and up to $400 at participating Resy restaurants. Each has its own rules and eligible merchants, so count only the ones you would use without the card.

If you travel only a few times a year, a no-fee or $95 card will usually leave you better off. Our guide to annual fee vs no annual fee cards walks through the break-even math.

The best lounge access cards, card by card

Capital One Venture X Rewards

The Venture X is the cheapest way to get Priority Pass plus an issuer's own lounges, and it earns 2x miles on everything outside the travel portal. The catch is the February 2026 change: guests and authorized users no longer get in free unless you spend $75,000 a year, which makes it weaker for couples and families. Our data lists excellent credit (740+) for approval.

Chase Sapphire Reserve

The Reserve suits frequent travelers who already collect Chase points. Its fee rose from $550 to $795 on June 23, 2025; existing members got the new benefits from October 26, 2025 and pay the higher fee at renewal. Authorized users cost $195 each. With 8x through Chase Travel and 4x on flights and hotels booked direct, it pays best when a large share of your spending is travel. Our guide to what a point is worth helps you value those points.

The Platinum Card from American Express

The Platinum card has the broadest lounge list here. American Express says its Global Lounge Collection covers more than 1,550 lounges, including Centurion Lounges, Priority Pass and Delta Sky Club visits when you fly Delta. The fee rose from $695 to $895 in the September 2025 refresh, and existing members pay it at renewals from January 2, 2026. It earns 5x on flights and prepaid Amex Travel hotels but only 1x on everyday spending, so pair it with another card.

Citi Strata Elite Card

Launched in July 2025, the Strata Elite gives ThankYou points collectors Priority Pass Select and four Admirals Club passes a year for $595. It earns 1.5x on everyday purchases, higher than most premium cards. The drawbacks are fewer lounge options than Amex or Chase and top earn rates that require booking through Citi Travel.

Airline cards with lounge passes

If you fly mostly one airline, a cheaper co-branded card may cover the few lounge visits you need. The Citi / AAdvantage Globe Mastercard ($350) includes four lounge passes. The Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite ($395) includes lounge passes and earns 3x on Alaska and Hawaiian purchases, dining and foreign spending. The United Explorer Card ($150 after a waived first year) includes United Club passes that you can no longer share. Our airline credit card guide covers the trade-offs.

How we picked

We started with every US card in our catalogue that includes lounge access and compared them on the points that decide real value:

  • Type of access: an ongoing membership ranks above a fixed number of passes.
  • Network: Priority Pass plus the issuer's own lounges beats Priority Pass alone.
  • Net cost: the annual fee minus credits most travelers can use without changing their habits.
  • Guest and authorized-user rules: these matter for couples and families and were tightened on the Venture X in 2026.
  • Everyday earning and foreign fees: a lounge card you also use abroad should charge no foreign transaction fee.

Fees, earn rates and lounge terms come from our card data and the issuers' own pages as of September 2026. We left out cards we could not confirm are open to new applicants. Benefits change often, so read the issuer's current terms before you apply.

Who should skip a lounge access card?

These cards are a poor fit in a few common situations:

  • You fly only a few times a year. Paying for a lounge visit on the day may cost less than the gap between these fees and a $95 travel card.
  • You carry a balance. The Venture X's variable APR runs 19.99% to 29.99% in our data, and a few months of interest can cancel out the value of every lounge visit.
  • You want free lounge entry for a partner or adult children on the Venture X without spending $75,000 a year.
  • You would rather not track credits. The Sapphire Reserve and Platinum card only make sense if you use a large share of theirs.

Business owners can look at The Business Platinum Card from American Express, which offers similar lounge access; its fee also rose to $895 in the September 2025 refresh.
