Synchrony HOME Credit Card
Best for: Financing a large home or furniture purchase at partner stores
👍 Pros
- Carries no annual fee
- Wide acceptance among home goods retailers
- Adaptable financing on larger purchases
👎 Cons
- Deferred-interest financing tacks on back-interest unless paid off in full
- Restricted to participating home retailers
- Earns no rewards beyond the network
This is really two cards in one: 2% back on eligible purchases under $299 at participating home and furniture retailers, or deferred-interest promotional financing on anything $299 and up. The financing is the actual reason to carry it, and it's a trap if you miss the payoff window, since deferred interest can hit you with the whole balance's interest retroactively. For a $3,000 sofa on a 12-month promo, you pay nothing extra only if it's fully cleared by the deadline; one late month and you owe back-interest from day one. No annual fee, acceptance is limited to its retailer network, so it's useless as a general card. Read the promo terms carefully on Synchrony's site.
