About Ramp

Ramp is a fintech best known for a corporate card with built-in expense management, aimed at small and mid-size businesses. Ramp underwrites based on your company's cash balance, cash flow and revenue rather than your personal credit, and it does not require founders to personally guarantee expenses. U.S. applicants need a registered corporation, LLC or LP, including nonprofits, an EIN, and at least $25,000 in a linked U.S. business bank account.

Ramp suits you if you run a registered business with steady cash in the bank and want cards, receipts, approvals and bookkeeping in one tool. Most of your operations and corporate spending must be in the U.S., and your business address must be a physical U.S. location. The limitation: individuals, sole proprietors and unregistered businesses cannot apply, and the $25,000 cash minimum rules out many very small or new companies.

Officers without an SSN can use a foreign passport and proof of address.

Does Ramp have special approval rules?

Business underwriting based on company financials.

How do I apply for a Ramp credit card?

Apply on ramp.com. Check any pre-qualification tool first — it uses a soft inquiry that does not affect your credit score.

Does Ramp require a personal guarantee?

No. Ramp says it does not require founders to personally guarantee expenses, and it does not run a personal credit check. Credit decisions are based on your company's financial health, such as cash balance, cash flow and revenue, so your personal credit is kept separate from company spending.

Can a sole proprietor get a Ramp card?

No. Ramp accepts corporations, LLCs and LPs, including nonprofits, but not individuals, sole proprietors or unregistered businesses. You also need an EIN and at least $25,000 in a U.S. business bank account, so a very new or informal business may need to incorporate first.
