Activate your RBC Credit Card online
- Sign in to RBC Online Banking with your Client Card or username and password
- Select your credit card on the Accounts Summary page
- On the Credit Card Account Details page, select 'Activate My Credit Card'
- Confirm
- No Online Banking? Go to rbc.com/activate instead
Activate in the RBC Mobile app
- Sign in to the RBC Mobile app
- Select the new credit card
- Follow the prompt to activate it
Activate by phone
Call 1-877-900-5900 (RBC activation line for personal and business credit cards on rbcroyalbank.com. Private Banking cards: 1-888-769-2585) and follow the automated prompts. You will usually be asked for the card number and a piece of identity information such as the last four digits of your SIN or date of birth.
After you activate
- Sign the back of the card
- Destroy your old card if this is a replacement
