About JPMorgan Chase

JPMorgan Chase is a national bank and major U.S. card issuer, best known for its Ultimate Rewards points on cards like the Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Sapphire Reserve. It also issues many airline, hotel and brand co-brands, including the United Explorer Card and Disney Inspire Visa Card, and in January 2026 Apple announced that Chase will become the new Apple Card issuer.

Chase suits you if you want transferable travel points, like pairing a no-annual-fee card such as Chase Freedom Unlimited with a Sapphire card, or run a small business that can use the Ink cards. If you are new to credit, Chase Freedom Rise is built for first-time cardholders. The main limitation: Chase is widely reported to decline most applicants who have opened five or more new cards from any issuer in the past 24 months, so the order in which you apply matters.

How to apply for a JPMorgan Chase card

Apply online at creditcards.chase.com, in the Chase Mobile app, or at a Chase branch. Before you apply, the official Check for Offers page shows any pre-approved offers, and signing in first can speed up the application. Have your Social Security number, date of birth, home address, total annual income and monthly housing payment ready. Business cards such as the Ink line also ask for your business name, structure, tax ID and annual revenue.
