Best Credit Cards for Groceries and Gas in Canada

A gas and grocery credit card earns a higher reward rate at gas stations, supermarkets or both, and it is for you if those everyday costs make up a large share of your monthly spending. Because you buy fuel and food every week, even a modest bonus rate adds up over a year.
Check the fine print on what counts. Many issuers do not treat superstores or warehouse clubs as grocery stores, and fuel bought at a warehouse club or supermarket gas station may not earn the gas rate. Some cards cap how much spending earns the bonus rate each year. Compare the annual fee against your estimated yearly grocery and gas spending, and consider a warehouse club's co-branded card if that is where you do most of your shopping.
